Abstract:

In this session we will give an overview and demo of the multi-instance manageability tools and techniques available for you with SQL Server 2008 R2. The team will present the Utility Control Point. You will also learn about the Data-Tier Application Component, which can play a role when you are consolidating at the database level.

Bio:

Prem. Mehra is a Program Manager with Microsoft Corporation in the SQL Server Development Organization. His expertise is in developing architectural solutions, which exploit technologies such as relational database, transaction and message servers, and connectivity products. Prior to joining Microsoft Corporation, Mr. Mehra was an Associate Partner at Andersen Consulting and a Senior Consultant at IBM. He has more than thirty-nine years of experience in the IT industry.
